Home
Visits. Due
to new regulations house calls are generally now only given to the terminally
ill and infirm.
The doctor may suggest hospital admission or a prescription may
be left but if it would be reasonable for the patient
to be brought to the
surgery without undue suffering or dangerous deterioration in the patients
condition an
an appointment will be offered.
Repeat
Prescriptions. All
prescriptions are computer printed. Patients on regular medication will be
issued
with a printed repeat request form. Please mark the items requested and hand
the form into the surgery at
least 48 hours before they are needed. Requests for prescriptions will not be taken over the telephone..
Wheelchair
Access. All
surgery facilities are available on the ground floor and the front door has a
wheelchair ramp. There is a disabled toilet on the ground floor.
New
Patients. All
new patients will be offered a new patient consultation. These appointments help
the
patient understand the practice; blood pressure, height and weight will be
checked at these appointments.
Clinics. The
practice has special clinics for Asthma, Diabetes and Cervical Smears. These are
run by
the practice nurse who is also available for contraception counselling,
weight surveillance, anti-smoking, blood
pressure and
"well person" checks.
For further details please contact reception staff.
